A Good Automobile Insurance Resource: The Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association

Because we deal with a lot of insurance companies, know how confusing insurance can be, and how important it is to have the right insurance coverage in the event you are injured in an automobile accident, we are always on the lookout for good resources of information to help consumers.
The Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association (RMIIA) bills itself as Your Guide to Understanding Insurance, and covers information about Automobile Insurance, Homeowners Insurance, Business Insurance, and Catastrophe Information for Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.
The Automobile insurance section includes information on insurance policies and explains the different types of coverage, such as bodily injury liability, property damage liability, collision, comprehensive, uninsured/underinsured motorist, and medical payments coverage.
There is also helpful information for teenage drivers and their parents. Notably, the website mentions the state minimum insurance coverage in Colorado, which is $25,000/$50,000 (per person/per accident) for bodily injuries, and $15,000 for property damage, but mentions the minimum recommended by many insurers is $100,000/$300,000. All too often do we see cases where the parties of an automobile accident only have the Colorado state minimum for automobile coverage, and all too often those parties find out that the state minimum is frequently not enough.
If you are shopping for Colorado automobile insurance and would like to learn more about insurance and your options we recommend you start with The Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association home page.
