D’Angelo Law Hires New Paralegal Laura Vessels
By Daniel E DAngelo Esq on December 16, 2014
D’Angelo Law is thrilled to announce the hiring of a new paralegal in Laura Vessels, a talented, driven young woman originally from Tennessee. Laura moved to Denver from the Nashville area six years ago, looking for a change geographically and of course new opportunities. Before moving to the Highlands neighborhood in Denver, she received her Associates of Science degree in psychology from Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, Tennessee.
Laura is a true outdoors enthusiast, one of the reasons she decided to make Colorado her home. She loves the fresh Colorado mountain air but also the smell and crackle of a good campfire. Although she spends most of her free time in the Colorado Rockies, above sea level, Laura also has her advanced scuba diving certification and enjoys exploring the world under the sea. During her travels, she also enjoys practicing her Spanish speaking skills and finding a new great café to satisfy her love of coffee. Laura is also highly interested in environmental conservation. She has a deep understanding of ecology as well as how food, construction, energy consumption, and waste all impact the world around us. She’s dedicated to “living green,” and Colorado is a perfect fit.
This last year Laura saw a lot of change, she left her job as a case manager for a large personal injury law firm, where she received accolades for her outstanding work, to pursue her other interests in environmental conservation. After a summer to reflect on her goals and learning new skills, Laura realized it wasn’t the work she disliked, simply the volume. She fulfills herself by helping others around her, and the chance to assist others in getting through their own tough times is what drew her to the D’Angelo Law Office. She is excited to work at a place, where clients are treated as family. This approach has reignited her love of the profession and ultimately what brought her back into the field of assisting personal injury victims. We are just as excited to have her on board and are looking forward to Laura growing and developing her already high-level skill set with our office.
Daniel E. D’Angelo formed D’Angelo Law Office, P.C. in 2009 because he wanted to break away from the traditional law practice where quality service, creativity, and risk taking are sometimes forgotten due to old mindsets and the demands of the “billable hour.” Free of the traditional law firm constraints and mindsets, Dan and his staff at D’Angelo Law follow a different path. Because their creativity is not limited by whether they can bill the client for their time, they can help clients whose claims may be more unique or complex, and they can spend more time getting to know the client because their day is not limited by a quota of billable hours. They are serious about helping accident victims by doing what is legally, ethically, and morally right. The answer is “no” when it comes to requests outside these principles.
