April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month

April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. According to the Denver Post, there were 40 distracted driving related crashes every day last year, and because people are unlikely to admit what they were doing before a crash, that number is probably higher. Part of the Colorado Department of Transportation campaign to increase awareness of the problem of distracted driving and to show the public how real of a problem is, CDOT will share videos demonstrating the consequences of distracted driving throughout April on its Facebook page and is asking the public to share their own videos or distracted driving experiences, regardless of whether they were a victim or guilty of the practice. To see more from CDOT about its campaign #DroptheDistraction go to its website about Distracted Driving and the CDOT Facebook page.
